WalletHub ranking says Georgia is one of the worst states for women
WalletHub recently published an analysis of all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., to find out where is the best and worst places for women to live. Georgia ranked among the worst.
Each area was evaluated with 25 key indicators. They were separated into two categories: "Women's Economic & Social Well-Being" worth 60 points and "Women's Health Care & Safety" worth 40 points. The indicators included things like unemployment rates and job security in the former category while things like abortion access and shares of physically active women were included in the latter.
According to the site's rankings based on these criteria, the 10 worst areas for women are:

3 Mississippi
4 Alabama
5 Texas
6 Arkansas
7 West Virginia
8 Wyoming
9 Georgia
10 Missouri
Georgia received an overall score of about 43.3 out of 100. It ranked similarly in both of the indicator categories.
According to further data provided by WalletHub spokesperson Diana Polk, the state scored particularly poorly in female high school graduation rates and rates of uninsured women. In both indicators, Georgia was ranked the third worst in the U.S.
But it's not all bad-news here. Georgia ranked first in unemployment rates for women with 3%. It was also in the top 10 for median earnings for women, $39,689, and share of women-owned businesses, 22.47%.
According to WalletHub, Massachusetts had the highest score overall with 74.7. Here is their full list of the top 10 areas for women:
