SAVANNAH - Drayton Angelo Byrom, 7, of Savannah, Georgia, and son of Ivan Levar Byrom and Alexandra “Ali” Caitlin Hayes, died unexpected­ly Thursday morning, March 14, 2024, at Memorial University Medical Center.

Born in Savannah, Drayton was the most loving and happiest kid, who enjoyed spending time with his family, his friends, his two dogs and three cats, and at the beach condo. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching the Savannah Bananas. Drayton loved being at Low Country Children’s Therapy and his family is most appreciati­ve of the love and attention he received there from Deanna Shaw and also his private therapist, Leanne Estrada.

Drayton was preceded in death by his maternal grandmothe­r, Lisa Hayes, and his maternal great-grandmothe­r, Mary King.

Surviving in addition to his parents include his brothers, Malaki Kaleel Byrom and Kingston Xavier Byrom; his maternal grandfathe­r, Robbie Hayes; his maternal great-grandmothe­r, Barbara “GiGi” Hayes; his paternal grandmothe­r, Tammy Byrom; his uncles, Houston “Hootie” Hayes, Fred Byrom and Michael Webb; his aunt, Jasmine Kirk, and his God parents, Sarah and Griffin Friedel.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, March 22, 2024, at Gamble Funeral Service,- 410 Stephenson Avenue.

The funeral service will be held at 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, March 22, 2024 at Gamble Funeral Service conducted by the Very Reverend Dr. William Willoughby III and Evangelist Paul A. Hodge.

The family asks that all who attend the service for Drayton wear their favorite team’s jersey. Preferably Atlanta Braves.
