n Sheets, pil­low­cases, and tow­els teetered on the shelves in mis­matched tow­ers. n Items needed only oc­ca­sion­ally (sunscreen and table­cloths) took up prime real es­tate, while of­ten- used items lan­guished on the floor or high shelves. n Loose bot­tles and jars were hard to iden­tify and easy to knock over.

Op­po­site: Be­fore, this linen closet at the end of a hall was a hodge­podge of loose bot­tles, mis­matched sheet sets, and an over­flow of travel ac­ces­sories (beach tow­els, makeup bags, and air­plane pil­lows). Above: Sheets and tow­els are now sorted into stacks, and bins and bas­kets cor­ral medicines, sham­poo bot­tles, toi­let pa­per, and more. A flat-fold step stool makes it easy to reach every­thing.
