Lunenburg woman in court for alleged assault on her child
Suspected of dragging her child out of her car and then throwing him to the ground, a local woman was in Fitchburg District Court Tuesday for a pretrial hearing on the charges, according to court and police documents.
Police said that on Sept. 28, Maureen Crowley, 44, of Pleasant Street, was seen by her ex-husband on Massachusetts Avenue dragging their son out of her car, throwing him to the ground and leaving.
The child, whose age was not included in court or police documents, suffered an abrasion on one of his legs, police said.
Crowley was summonsed to court for arraignment on a single charge of assault and battery in November, according to court documents. She was released on personal recognizance and ordered to appear for the pre-trial hearing on Tuesday. Crowley is due back in court on March 5.
