Saladini, Dowd pace Bulldogs in defeat

Arianna Saladini scored seven points and teammate Kelsey Dowd chipped in with six as the Monty Tech girls basketball team fell at home against Advanced Math & Science, 47-26, Thursday evening.

Also playing well for Monty Tech (4-5) were Emma Gosselin (four points) and Bailey Tammaro (three points). Meghan Law and Izabella Stakley added two points apiece.

Marlboro 49, Fitchburg 40 The Red Raiders were led in Wednesday’s hard-fought loss by a sweep in the 55-meter dash by Duncan Poitras (6.8 seconds), Miguel Torres (7.0) and Edwin Daramy (7.6). Finishing first for Fitchburg were Alan Farias (300, 42.4), Bryan Rivera (55 hurdles, 9.7), Gio Marrone (shot put, 37 feet, 10 inches) and the 4×200 relay team of Poitras, Farias, Daramy and Torres (1:50.5). Placing second were Errickson Danger (300, 43.7), Rivera (high jump, 4-10) and Ethan Chandler (shot put, 31-8). Christian Arduino (600, 1:42.2) and Abris Wunderlich (2-mile, 11:37.1) were third.

Lunenburg 78, Murdock 13 The Blue Knights ran their dualmeet record to 6-0 with Wednesday’s blowout win. First-place finishers for Lunenburg were

Placing second were Green (shot put, 55 dash), Evee Mabon (2-mile), Bajko (mile), Lawrence (300) and Ava Pilon (1,000). Jinnie Do (shot put), Brackett (high jump), Lawrence (55 hurdles), Pilon (mile), Gabby Maia (600), PageViolet­te (300) and Evee Mabon (1,000) were third.

Marlboro 50, Fitchburg 41 Winners for Fitchburg in Wednesday’s defeat were Olamide Bamgbose (shot put, 29 feet, 2.5 inches; high jump, 4-8), Elle Scott (55 dash, 7.6 seconds), Wonoula Ashaju (300, 45.6) and the 4×200 relay squad (Bamgbose, Ashaju, Rachael Brouillet, Scott; 2:00.5). Brouillet ( 600, 1:51.9) and Lina Kherallah (1,000, 3:50.1; mile, 6:34.9) took second, while placing third were Bamgbose (55, 7.9), Kylah Robinson (300, 51.1), Chloe LaVigueur (600, 2:11.5), Amber McCloskey (mile, 6:47.2), Maggie Bourgeouis (2-mile, 16:30.9), Aria DiCato (55 hurdles, 11.0) and Ashaju (high jump, 4-2).
