Learn about chocolate — and eat some!

-

The community is invited to two delicious events titled “Chocolate Tasting with DeDe Wilson,” both on Saturday, April 25, at Lunenburg Public Library, 1023 Massachusetts Ave.

The first session runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the second session from 1 to 3 p.m.

Guests are welcome to a virtual tour of cacao production, from choosing and harvesting beans, to drying and fermentation techniques, to creating the recipes that leads to the chocolate bars that people eat.

Then, learn how to truly appreciate and assess chocolate with all of your senses with a tasting of different varieties and sources from around the globe. Learn why two 70% chocolates taste different from one another, how to read a label to assess chocolate quality, why one chocolate that is good for eating might not be as good for baking, and what makes a chocolate “best” in its class.

Registration is required, and space is limited. The events are geared toward ages 14 and up.

For the best experience eat only lightly before attending.
