Kudos for recent editorials

- — Herschel C. Jones Westminster — Mike Mastergeorge Pepperell

The purpose of this letter is, probably not consistent with most, to compliment you on the past several editorials with emphasis on those of May 17 and 18. Not only were they powerful in themselves, but bucked the recent trend in most newspapers of disrespecting any and all persons and opinions not following their narrative.

I found your editorial supportive of CBS correspondent Catherine Herridge to be particularly outstanding in that you are supportive of a journalist who writes for a competing news publisher.

I also found your editorial of May 17 to be an inspired statement of a truth that has been generally covered up over the past two years by most media. That has been that Congressman Adam Schiff has been allowed by the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives to continue to lie and to promote investigations based on lies and false premises for more than two years, impeding our president in his work for us, and costing taxpayers millions and millions of dollars.

I can only hope that voters in Schiff ’s district in California are convinced by your editorial to replace him in that office this November, but, based on my observations of whom we in this commonwealth send to Washington, I don’t have much hope for such as outcome.

Please understand, stage 3 esophageal cancer is very serious, but, stage 4 is a death sentence.

My concern is that if any of the treatments had been delayed or canceled, the outcome would have been much different.

If this had occurred at the beginning of the lockdown, I would have had difficult decisions to make while I watched my cancer grow.

Without the chemo and radiation, surgery was not an option. Without the surgery, the results could not be assured. I

I was able to choose life saving surgery.

I hope I am speaking for those who have had that decision taken away. Those who are home waiting to be told that their stage 3 cancer, which projected a long, life-altering recovery, has progressed to stage 4 with an 85% mortality factor.

Gov. Baker please open our hospitals NOW AND SAVE OUR LIVES.
