Robbins chosen as rep’s aide
FITCHBURG » State Rep. Michael Kushmerek announced the appointment of Brandon Robbins as his legislative aide on Monday.
“As I begin my new role as state representative, I am thrilled to announce that Brandon Robbins will be serving as my legislative aide on Beacon Hill,” said Kushmerek, a Fitchburg Democrat. “With nearly four years of experience in constituent services at a local nonprofit dedicated to addressing food and housing insecurity, Brandon has developed a reputation for being both compassionate and effective,” he said. “I am confident that with Brandon in this role, we will hit the ground running to serve the people of
Fitchburg and Lunenburg.”
The duties of a legislative aide include a wide spectrum of responsibilities, from tracking the representative’s legislative and budgetary priorities to researching legislative issues and helping constituents solve complex problems.
Prior to joining Kushmerek’s office, Robbins served as his campaign manager.
“I know Brandon understands the needs of the 3rd Worcester District as he has dedicated his last nine months to connecting with and understanding the issues that matter most to our residents and businesses,” Kushmerek said.
“I am thankful for the opportunity and looking forward to working with Representative Kushmerek to fight hard for the people of the 3rd Worcester District,” Robbins said.
Robbins’ prior experience includes roles as the manager of Ginny’s Helping Hands and as district intern for US. Rep. Lori Trahan.
An elected official himself, Robbins also serves on the Leominster School Committee, a post he has held since January 2020. Robbins recently completed his master’s degree in public administration from UMass Lowell, from which he also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science.
