Third graders donate 912 pairs of socks to elderly
Montachusett Home Care gets sock donation from third grade class
LEOMINSTER » Montachusett Home Care Corp. announced Monday that the city’s St. Anna Catholic School generously donated more than 900 pairs of socks for the aging community of North Central Massachusetts.
Traditionally referred to as “Socks for Santa,” MHCC annually collaborates with Denise Lawson’s third grade class. Lawson’s students donated 912 pairs of new socks this year, which will come in handy for the region’s aging community this winter.
“We (St. Anna School) encourage and teach our students to help those in our community and show empathy by doing,” Lawson said. “Our Socks for Santa drive is just one way we work together as a school community to help those around us.”
