Will Arizona censure set the stage for Massachusetts GOP?
The Arizona GOP has set the stage and scripted a clear path for Republicans across the country to clean house of RINOs, or “Republicans In Name Only.” Arizona Republican Party members passed three resolutions censuring Republicans Cindy McCain, former U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake and Gov. Doug Ducey.
The three Republicans were censured for everything from endorsing Joe Biden for president to rejecting the interests of the American people over globalist interests. The bottom line is that the Arizona GOP has decided to put party loyalty over the individual interests of three defectors. Whether you agree with the Arizona GOP or not, it took guts, gave direction and sent a clear message of the expectations for those who wish to remain part of the Arizona Republican Party.
In Massachusetts, the Democrats have been censuring and flat out dismissing those within the state party structure who do not abide by party rules for years. Democrat party loyalty is one of the few things Republicans should admire and appreciate about the opposition party in Massachusetts. Democrats in Massachusetts understand politics is a team sport and that to win, you have to stick to the rules and be loyal. It is certainly something Gov. Charlie Baker doesn’t subscribe to since he’s been elected. Only look to the dwindling amount of elected Republicans in Massachusetts.
The Massachusetts GOP certainly has more than enough reason to censure Baker and Karyn Polito if they wanted to.
Since first taking office, Baker has done his best to dismantle the Republican Party. Baker set out to eliminate conservatives from the state committee, by supporting candidates that leaned left and or were former Democrats.
In addition, Baker has abandoned fiscal conservatism and has begun to raise taxes in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Republican Party not only needs to recruit future candidates, but needs to set the agenda and create the platform for those candidates to run on.
