Fitchburg youth baseball clinic a roaring success

- Staff Report

The Fitchburg High baseball program hosted a free Fitchburg youth baseball clinic for athletes ages 8-15 in the city on Sunday at Fitchburg High School.

The clinic was a success, as players learned the fundamentals of hitting and infield and outfield play in a fun and friendly environment.

The clinic was run by Fitchburg High School baseball players and coaches.

“I hope everyone that attended had fun, learned new techniques and left with a greater passion to play baseball,” said Fitchburg head coach Chad Garner. “I can’t thank my great staff enough for helping run this clinic and so many of our current players in the program. Our Red Raiders were simply fantastic with the younger kids. As a coach, I’m beaming with pride because of their willingness to want to give back to our community and help kids learn and love baseball.

“We definitely want more kids to play baseball in the city of Fitchburg. We hope these youth players will one day attend Fitchburg High School and proudly wear the Red Raider jersey.”
