Main Street Bank gives to Skate Park
LUNENBURG » Undeterred by the poor weather conditions, representatives from the Lunenburg Skate Park and Main Street Bank partnered at this year’s Trunk or Treat event, according to a press release from the Skate Park organization.
While there, Main Street Bank presented a check for $5,000 to the Lunenburg Skate Park, a nonprofit organization that has the singular mission of raising the necessary capital resources to construct a permanent, concrete, skate, scooter and BMX facility, according to the organization.
The facility will include a variety of obstacles and features that will cater to a wide range of disciplines and skill levels. This park will be a community asset for youth both in the town as well as the overall region.
The goal of the skate park project is to provide a safe recreational resource for area youth to enjoy. The organization said this asset will provide youth with a healthy outdoor alternative to other less desirable choices, such as video games, vaping, drinking and drug use. This funding will enable a driven group of youths to realize their goal of creating a sustainable recreational resource for their community and the entire region, according to the organization.
“Seeing this project come to life over the past few years has been exciting for us and the Lunenburg community,” said Jamie Conaghan, vice president of marketing at Main Street Bank. “We’re delighted to contribute to this worthwhile initiative that will provide a healthy space for the youth and invigorate the town.”
“We are extremely appreciative of Main Street Bank’s support for this project as we push toward
reaching our funding goal of $225G. We are presently
targeting a shovel-ready project come spring 2022 and we are just that much closer today thanks to Main Street Bank’s generosity,” said Anthony Caiozzo, president of the Lunen
burg Skate Park.
