Tweens & Teens Cooking Program planned

-

LUNENBURG » The Lunenburg Public Library will host a Tweens & Teens Virtual Cooking Program, via Zoom, Thursdays from May 5 through May 26, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Brittany Wujek, a registered dietitian with Hannaford’s Supermarket, will walk people through how to prepare delicious, healthy dishes that are inspired by favorite Disney movies.

On Thursday, May 5, the class will be thinking about the Disney movie “Lady and the Tramp” as they make a pasta dish. A vegetable dish, inspired by the Disney movie “Ratatouille” will be held on Thursday, May 12. On Thursday, May 19, children will learn how to make a dessert, inspired by the Disney movie “Moana” and on Thursday, May 26, they will make a healthy side dish, inspired by the Disney movie “Coco.”

Weekly recipes and lists of needed ingredients will be supplied by the library so that people will be prepared to fully participate in each class. Participants receive an email from the teen librarian once kits are ready to be picked up.

This program is open to children ages 10 to 14. Registration is required. Registration is by household, not by number of people participating. The library recommends that there is adult supervision for this cooking class as students will use various kitchen tools and a stove. The good news? The goal for the class is to prepare a dish for that night’s dinner.

These cooking classes are provided in partnership with Lunenburg Hannaford Supermarket and sponsored in part by the Friends of the Lunenburg Public Library.
