Tips to creating a more meaningful life

- Bonnie Page Ask the Psychic

DEAR BONNIE » I want to make some life changes this year, but I am not sure how to go about it. What would be the best way to create a more meaningful life?

— Sydney

DEAR SYDNEY » It is not easy to make life-changing decisions but knowing what you need or want is the biggest step. Some people go through their whole life without a plan or destination of where they want to go or who they want to be in this world. It is like taking a road trip without a map.

Living day by day and not setting goals for your life is like letting someone do the driving and not being in control of where you will end up. Setting goals and making plans puts you in the driver’s seat and not on an endless ride without a map. Unless you take the time to stop and think about your life and what you want to accomplish, your life can seem like an ongoing movie with no plot.

Think about what means the most to you currently. Is it free time? Career? Family? Schooling? You get the idea, then ask yourself, what do I need to do to make this happen? Just taking that first step is an accomplishment and a way to bring something to the light of day.

Once you focus your attention on what you want to achieve, the universe will be able to help you put your plans into action. Everything is energy. Your thoughts are energy, and when you begin to turn your energy into achieving this desire, and your thoughts are focused, your energy will not be scattered.

Focusing on your desire will help you to manifest what you want to come to fruition. Nothing gets accomplished unless there is a thought and then action behind that thought.

You choose to edit the script of your life at any time; if your wants are different from your needs, roadblocks might pop up out of nowhere. If your plan has many ups and downs, take time to see what is not working and what is working. From there, you will be able to see the map more clearly. When things are not going your way as you have planned it, it might be the universe giving you a heads up by putting that block in your path.

There are always two roads to travel, and the universe has your back and tries to send you down the right path. There is always Divine guidance when you choose your plan. Have patience and compassion with yourself and follow the plan and your map as best you can.

The biggest mistake people make is to make a goal for themselves and then forget that same goal a week later. We are all human, and life happens, so make sure to write down what you hope to accomplish and make that map of what you wish for your life. You can review or edit your plans for your destination at any time. Only then will you be able to clear out what is not serving you or your greater self.

Life goes by fast, so have a plan that makes you feel fulfilled and satisfied. At the end of your life, you do not want to have a regret because you did not take the time to draw a map to where you wanted to end up on your trip called life.
