Does my late dad know I forgive him?

-

DEAR BONNIE » I came in for a mediumship reading with you, not knowing what to expect. My friend thought it would be a good idea to have a reading with you as my father has passed, and I think she thought it would be healing. But when my dad came through with all sorts of details, I just sat there frozen. All the memories came flooding back to me, and I just could not handle it. The worst part was that he wanted to say sorry for how his life ended, and I still just could not let the words I had for him come out of my mouth. Do you think he knows that I love and forgive him? I know you do this work for healing, but it felt so raw. I am grateful for what you do, but I do not think I showed any emotions except for me crying.

DEAR ABBEY » I remember your reading well, and I am sharing it because it happens often, and it might just help someone else. It is hard to hear from someone that means so much to us when their life ended too soon because of tragic circumstances. Especially when it involves someone taking their own life, the evidence that they bring forward of their life and your life coming through as they speak can be a lot to handle. Bringing up happy and sometimes not-so-happy memories can be emotional and sometimes hard to hear. But you see, a reading is for just that purpose when hearing about their life and their memories, it brings you to a deep knowing that comes with that feeling of they are still here in this moment and very much alive.

Many clients ask me if my loved one took their own life, can they come through? Are they in heaven? I assure each one of you that suicide does not keep you out of heaven or with God. God is about forgiveness. Would he forsake you in your time of need? That is not how God works.

Please know that a reading can be very emotional for anyone, even if the passing was not tragic or sudden. Letting out tears that have been held in is healing in itself. Hearing from a loved one that is asking for forgiveness can be a big step in the healing process. Not just for my client but also for the person in heaven wanting to say they are sorry.

When they can get that strong message to their loved ones, that is also freeing to their soul, and therefore their soul continues to heal as well. If a reading seems to be too raw at this moment, I tell my clients to come when they feel ready. I hope your healing has begun, and soon you will find yourself wanting to connect with your dad once again on a happier note. He knows you love and forgive him, and he will always stay by your side, being your greatest cheerleader.
