Tanks for the memories
Museum display allows hands-on experience
The American Heritage Museum’s collection ofworld War Ii-era tanks including the M4 Sherman and M24 Chaffee and other rare military vehicles will be on display during WWII Tank Demonstration Weekend, July 8-9 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Special to this weekend are very rare M26A1 Pershing, M5 Stuart and M36 Jackson tanks. Captivating historical narration will bring these amazing machines to life. WWII veterans who served in these tanks will participate in this living history event.
All three museums will be open: The American heritage museum, The historic Aviation Hangar and Classic Automobile Barn. This is a unique opportunity to see some of the world’s most rare aircraft, extraordinary American classic automobiles, historic tanks, armored vehicles, military artifacts and much more.
Admission for the Saturday and Sunday events is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors/veterans, and $15 for pre- teen children. Members, WWII/ Korean War veterans and children under 3 are free.

Tank driving experiences and rides will be taking place over the weekend.

WWII Tank Driving Experience Prices:
— M24 Chaffee Light Tank (20 minutes driving the tank) — $995 donation (tax deductible)— M4 Sherman Medium Tank (20 minutes driving the tank) — $1,495 donation (tax deductible)
WWII Tank Ride Experience Prices:
— M24 Chaffee (10 minute ride) — $595 per group of Three (3) persons — two inthe turret, one in the bow gunner position.— M4 Sherman (10minute ride)—$595 per groupoftwo (2) persons — one in the turret, one in the bow gunner position.
