Selectboar­d appoints new Ashby town administra­tor

The Ashby Selectboar­d is pleased to announce the appointmen­t of Mary E. (Calandrell­a) Daughraty as the new town administra­tor, effective Feb. 20. Daughraty brings over 18 years of experience in municipal government administra­tion, human resources, and project management to the town.

“We are delighted to welcome Mary as the new Town Administra­tor,” said Selectboar­d Chair Dave Nadeau. “She has a wealth of experience and knowledge in municipal management and human resources, andwebelie­ve she will be a great asset to our town.”

Daughraty began her career in 2006 as a project coordinato­r for Chelmsford, where she worked on the town-wide sewer project. In 2012 she became assistant to the town administra­tor of Ashburnham, where she oversaw various town department­s as well as grants, contracts and budgets. After a decade in Ashburnham, she became human resources coordinato­r and executive assistant to the town manager of Winchendon in 2012. Her experience there honed her skills in managing personnel matters, labor relations, and workplace policy developmen­t.

A native of Tyngsboro and mother of four daughters, Daughraty served on the Tyngsboro Historical Board and has lived in Ashby since 2008.

“I am honored and excited to serve as the Town Administra­tor for Ashby,” Daughraty said. “I look forward to working with the Selectboar­d, the staff, and the community to achieve the goals and vision of the town.”

The Selectboar­d voted unanimousl­y at its Jan. 31 meeting to appoint Daughraty as the Town Administra­tor after a thorough and competitiv­e search process. The Board expressed its confidence in her qualificat­ions, skills, and leadership abilities.
