Mall searching for the next great pop-up shop
LEOMINSTER >> The Mall at Whitney Field recently announced the launch of the “Search for Leominster’s Next Great Pop-up Shop”, a contest that awards one lucky entrepreneur retail space for 12 weeks during the busiest shopping season of the year.
The contest was created in 2019 and originally held in Auburn, Alabama. Since then, the initiative has grown into 22 markets across America and has hosted over 50 PopUps to encourage small business growth through brickand-mortar success.
The Search is looking to connect with local entrepreneurs and business owners in the Leominster area who are looking to explore operating a brick-and-mortar space. The contest is open to businesses of all types.
The winner will receive the following: retail space in the Mall from October 1 through December 31; up to $1,000 to customize the design of your shop; branded signage and coming soon graphics; ongoing promotions across the Mall’s digital assets; and educational materials to assist with operating a storefront.
“We believe that supporting small businesses is essential for our community,” said Lindsey Mueller, Director of Small Business Development. “We are very excited to be hosting the ‘Search for Leominster’s Next Great Pop-up Shop’ this year. There are so many talented entrepreneurs and business owners in the Leominster area, and this is a one-of-akind opportunity for entrepreneurs to build their brand, connect with customers, and take their businesses to new heights.”
“Whether you are a new business looking to experience a brick-and-mortar space or an existing business looking to try something different, there are so many possibilities to make this space something special,” Mueller added.
Applications for the pop-up shop contest are now open. Local business owners, makers, and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply.
Leominster Mayor Dean Mazzarella adds to the excitement of this contest.
“This is a great opportunity for a local business to show their community what they have to offer,” said Mazzarella. “The mall has always wanted to promote small businesses, and I believe that this contest certainly shows how they want to help.”
