Jackson trustees ready for the new year
* establishing temporary appropriations of $863,964.74 to meet the current operating needs of Jackson Township until a permanent appropriations resolution can be approved
* continuing to hold trustees’ meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the township building except on holidays when they would meet the following evening at 7.
* reappoininting Ronald Carpenter as zoning inspector
* approving its travel-related reimbursement policy involving township business. This includes a mileage reimbursement of 56 cents per mile
* the three trustees serving as the London Cemetery Cemetery Board. The annual cemetery board meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. April 6.
* conducting an annual inventory of equipment set for Jan. 10
* establishing the pay rate for township zoning inspector at $500 per month
* setting the expense reimbursement for the zoning commission and zoning appeals board members at $30 per meeting and board secretaries at $40 per meeting
* establishing the pay rate for the township road superintendent at $25 per hour. The current part-time road assistant is to be paid $17.50 per hour in 2021.
* setting pay rates of $15 an hour for skilled township government workers with at least a Class B commercial driver’s license, $12.50 per hour for experienced workers and $10 per hour for inexperienced workers
* appointing Kevin Alt to the Jackson Township Zoning Commission for a term running from Jan. 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2025.
* appointing Jerry Roth to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a term running from
Jan. 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2025.
* naming Trustee Eshelman as township safety coordinator, Vogt reported.
