Constance Anne Holthouse, Connie, was promoted peacefully to glory with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was 85.

She was born on September 30, 1935, to Bertram and Mirma (Kirk) Bogard in Detroit, Michigan. A 1953 Cheboygan High School graduate, she worked for her father in his electronic­s business after high school and married Jordon Earl Holthouse of Celervyill­e, Ohio on February 11, 1955.

Connie and Jordon partnered with his brother Stanton and his wife Carol, together running and growing Holthouse Farms, the family vegetable farming business. She retired in 2005.

Jordon and Connie raised their six children in an atmosphere of love for God and each other. The Holthouse home was a lively one, filled with love and laughter, games and shenanigan­s. Jordon and Connie also traveled extensivel­y together throughout their lives, experienci­ng God’s beauty in the Caribbean, Canada, and most of the United States including Hawaii and Alaska.

Connie was a member of the Willard Christian Reformed Church. She took part in the choir, Fellowship Guild, hospitalit­y committee and numerous other activities. She always led with the heart of a servant. Her kindness and gentle spirit were an encouragem­ent to many. She enjoyed many volunteer activities like making crafts and helping to manage, coordinate and run the Celeryvill­e Christian School annual craft bazaar that raised funds to support Christian education. Her family and friends could always count on Connie’s loving example of unconditio­nal Christian love and compassion.

Jordon and Connie were blessed with 62 years together before God called Jordon home in 2017.

They are survived by their six children: Valerie (Marvin) Van Someren of Hudsonvill­e, MI; Kenneth (Robin) Holthouse of Celeryvill­e; Karen (Marc) Schultz of Belle Glade, FL; Steven (Randi) Holthouse of North Fairfield; Sheri Holthouse of Alexandria, VA; and Michael (Kristina)

Holthouse of Medina.

They were blessed with 14 grandchild­ren and 16 great-grandchild­ren.

In addition to her parents and husband Jordon, Connie was preceded in death by her sister, Justine Carver, and her brother and sisterin-law, Emerson and Ida Kraft.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, March 12, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at the Willard Christian Reformed Church, 4180 OH-103 S, Willard, OH 44890. A Celebratio­n of Connie’s Life will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastors Len Riemersma and Marvin Van Someren, her sonin-law. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.

The family requests those who choose to attend in person to wear masks and observe social distancing.
