Sharon Twp. talks roads at meeting

SHARON TWP- Sharon Township Trustees met in regular session on Monday, June 21 to discuss a number of issues including hearing the road superinten­dent’s report and accepting a bid for a road project.

According to the approved minutes from the meeting, Road Superinten­dent Tyler Grove reported he had completed various jobs. Grove explained he would continue to mow and weed eat intersecti­ons. Grove shared he put the spreader on the Internatio­nal and cleaned it up. He also washed the backhoe and set up his desk email. Grove explained he attempted for his CDL, but was unsuccessf­ul. The next attempt would take place on July 6.

In legislatio­n, a motion was made by Trustee Jason Snyder to buy six new tires for the Internatio­nal at Galion Tire. Trustee Devin Cain seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimousl­y.

Also in legislatio­n according to the minutes, a motion was made by Cain to accept the bid of Small’s Asphalt Paving Inc. with stipulatio­n of appropriat­ions for 2021 only allow the expenditur­e of $75,000 (rounded) for contracted services with Fog sealing only for Weidner. The motion was seconded by Snyder.
