Shiloh Ox Roast kicks off on Friday

SHILOH- Carrying on with a long standing tradition, the 55th Annual Shiloh Fireman’s Ox Roast will be kicking off this Friday.

This year, the festival will take place on Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24. The main attraction to the festival is usually the beef sandwiches and this year will be no different. There will be 9,000 pounds of beef available for residents throughout the area to enjoy. Customers can purchase bulk sales of meat and there will also be baked beans and potato salad at the fire station on Delaware Street in Shiloh. Hot dogs, cake and pie will also be available, along with many other food vendors. Serving will take place from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Main events will be returning this year including the garden tractor pull on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks will also be on Friday after dark.

Live music will also be making a comeback at the festival with Frank Medley and the Getaway Band performing Friday from 8-11 p.m. On Saturday, Kickin Grass will take the stage from 3-5 p.m. and then The Mike Combs Band will put on a show from 8-11 p.m. All shows are free admission.

Also taking place on Saturday at 7 p.m. will be the parade.

The festival will be held in Shiloh on State Route 603 and all proceeds from the festival go to the Shiloh-cassbloomi­nggrove Firefighte­r’s Associatio­n, Inc.
