Teaching and Learning Department hires new consultants
Mansfield, OH (May 3, 2022) – Midohio Educational Service Center’s Teaching and Learning department is
experiencing exponential growth for the next school year, particularly in literacy and mathematics. To meet this
demand, the department has hired Heather Dillon as a literacy consultant and Rebecca Kidney as a mathematics and gifted consultant.
Heather has been a second-grade teacher and literacy support specialist during her career at Tiffin City Schools and
her current position at Mansfield City Schools. She will soon receive her certification as a dyslexia specialist, enabling
her to provide in-depth support to districts as they implement the new “Right to Read” law for dyslexia this fall.
Heather cares deeply about ensuring all students can read, even those who have experienced significant struggles in
the past. “I am so excited to be a part of the Mid-ohio family!” she said. “I have a passion for literacy and providing
meaningful assistance to students and other educators. I am looking forward to being able to share this knowledge on a larger scale.”
Rebecca was a mathematics teacher and gifted intervention specialist at Crestview Local Schools. Her extensive
background in these areas makes her an ideal consultant to serve and support Mid-ohio districts as part of the
Teaching and Learning team. Rebecca noted, “I am excited to work as a consultant for Mid-ohio because it is going
to be a new adventure for me. I’m looking forward to using my experience from the past 22 years to help others, and
it will be wonderful to meet and support educators in the surrounding districts and communities.”
Lynn Meister, Director of Teaching and Learning, said the addition of these women will be a great asset for Mid-ohio
and its member districts. “These women have distinguished themselves with their passion for reaching students, and
we are thrilled to bring them into our growing department to use their talents with even more students.”
Mid-ohio Educational Service Center provides specialized academic and support services, including professional
development, to 11 school districts and over 18,000 students in Crawford, Morrow and Richland Counties. Client
