Shelby Help Line Ministries is pleased to announce with the assistance of local churches we will once again offer Children’s Free Summer Lunches. This makes for 14 years of faithful community service. In 2021, we were able to serve 3,268 lunches to our children. How God has blessed us. We certainly could not host this program alone and are grateful to those in the community who have given through donations or their time. As we know COVID has impacted many people in many different ways. We have certainly seen an impact here at Shelby Help Line in our yearly programs. We are hopeful that the use of our ministries will begin to pick back up where they had left off before the pandemic.

Summer Lunches will begin May 23rd and continue through September 2nd. They will be served at Shelby Help Line Ministries, on the backside of the building as they were last summer between the hours of noon and 1PM, Monday through Friday. Lunches will be packed to go as they always have, however, there is seating for children to sit inside and enjoy their meals if they would like. Lunches are available to Shelby and Tiro residents for children 18 and under. We ask that preschool children and younger be accompanied by an adult. Children MUST BE PRESENT to receive a lunch.

Changes in the school’s schedule have given us an additional 4 weeks of serving this year and our churches have graciously taken on the challenge! Participating churches include; Awake Church, Calvary Baptist Church, Connect Church, Core Community Church, Crossroads Community Church, First Luthern Church, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Shelby Church of Nazarene, Taylortown Community Church, and Trinity United Methodist. United Fund gives every year to Shelby Help Line Ministries for the Children’s Free Summer Lunches. Shelby Help Line will give a weekly allowance of $1,000 for food and the expense of utensils and packaging to the churches. Contributions may be made to Shelby Christian Outreach through our online giving at www.shelbyhelpline. org, or by check through our office or mailed to Shelby Help Line Ministries, 29 – ½ Walnut Street Rear.
