Activities for the whole family this weekend in Richland County
With the weather heating up outside, Richland County has a number of different activities happening this weekend that the whole family will be sure to enjoy.
At Kingwood Center Gardens starting on Friday, June 2, Sean Kenney’s Nature Connects with LEGO Bricks will be displayed. This exhibition shows different art that are made from LEGO’S.
Some of the pieces of art that will be on display show the exploration of animal endangerment, balancing ecosystems, and human relationships with nature.
This display will be available from June 2-Septmeber 17. There will be a total of 15 sculptures on display throughout Kingwood. This will be open daily to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Online timed tickets are required. For more information, call 419-522-0211 or visit kingwoodcenter.org.
At the Buckeye Imagination Museum, First Fridays will be happening. The first Friday of every month, the museum will open late between the hours of 5-8 p.m. During this time, children can participate in programs, crafts, and other activities.
For those who are in the mood to get outside and get a workout in, a parkrun 5K will be taking place in Mansfield. This is a free weekly 5K that takes place every Saturday at 8 a.m. from now through September.
For those who are interested the location of the run will be at 625 Hope Rd., Mansfield.
For those who enjoy dancing, there will be a barn dance at Malabar Farm State Park, Saturday, June 3 at 7 p.m. This will occur in the main barn and there will be square and line dancing happening. All are welcome to attend this free event.
Those who are car enthusiasts can venture over to Mansfield Motorama on Sunday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This car, truck and motorcycle show is open to everyone and the show also benefits children with hearing disabilities. This will be taking place at the Mansfield Fire Museum and Educational center located at 1265 W. Fourth St., Mansfield.
