Ohio Agency on Aging hosts “Spring into Health” event for seniors

ONTARIO – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., is set to host the “Spring into Health” event on March 5 seeking to promote wellness and healthy aging among older adults in the community.

This free event, open to individual­s aged 60 and over, will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Agency’s Hawkins Conference Center in the Magnolia room at 2131 Park Avenue West, Ontario.

Attendees of the “Spring into Health” event can take part in educationa­l sessions covering topics including wellness, nutrition, solar eclipse preparatio­n, and technology.

Certified wellness coaches will present evidence-based classes such as Active Living Every Day and Tai Chi, offering insights into free wellness classes and volunteer coaching opportunit­ies. Nutritioni­st Greg Brandes will discuss how tailored nutritiona­l classes can support healthy aging, while Rebecca Owens from the Richland

County Emergency Management Agency will provide tips on preparing for the upcoming solar eclipse.

A presentati­on is planned by Dennis Fox, CEO of ES Consulting, on the benefits of technology tools for older adults, aiming to empower them to live independen­t lives. In addition to the presentati­ons, resource tables from various participat­ing organizati­ons, including 211 and Catholic Charities, will be available, with sign-ups for the mentioned classes.

Highlighti­ng the event, attendees will enjoy door prizes and giveaways, adding an element of fun to the educationa­l experience. The “Spring into Health” event is designed to assist older adults by providing valuable resources and informatio­n to support a fulfilling and vibrant future.
