Ambrose W. “Slim” Trucks, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Ohiohealth Mansfield Hospital.

Born June 1, 1936 in Crawford County, OH to Ambrose G. and Mary (Eberl) Trucks he had been a Shelby area resident the majority of his life. A 1954 graduate of New Washington High School, he was employed as a truck driver with Mansfield Steel & Supply, Milliron Industries, and retired from Wickes Lumber in 2000. Ambrose regularly attended mass at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

In his younger years, he enjoyed dirt track car racing and rebuilding antique cars. In his later years, he enjoyed weekend camping with many friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow campers.

Survivors include his wife, Joy (Kaiser) Trucks, whom he married on June 6, 1959; his children, Shirley (Rick) Johnson of Lawton, OK; Thomas (Susan) Trucks of Bumpass, VA and Dennis (Dean Cox) Trucks of Columbus, OH; six grandchild­ren, eleven great grandchild­ren; one sister, Loretta Trucks of Tiro, OH; and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in

death by his son, Duane Trucks in 1996 and another sister, Marie Trucks (Sr. Esther, Order of St. Francis, Tiffin, OH).

Friends and relatives may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, March 8 from 10:00 – 12:00. A funeral mass will be held on the same day at 12:30 PM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father Chris Mileski officiatin­g, followed by internment at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Shelby Help Line Ministries at 29 1/2 Walnut St., Shelby, OH 44875 and/ or Ohiohealth Hospice at 50 Industrial Drive Lexington, Ohio 44904.
