Champion crowned in MAC wrestling team championship
KENT, Ohio – In a display of skill and strength, Central Michigan emerged victorious at the 2024 Mid-american Conference Wrestling Championship. Outmaneuvering contenders, it clinched the title with a final team score of 131.0.
Following a competition that brought together some of the best collegiate wrestling teams in the region, Rider University secured second place with a score of 114.5, while George Mason
University rounded out the top three with 112.5 points.
Other universities also performed well in the championship. Lock Haven took fourth place with 93.0 points, followed by Buffalo at 85.5, illustrating the depth of talent across the conference’s wrestling programs.
Ohio University and Northern Illinois scored 82.0 and 74.5 points respectively, taking the sixth and seventh spots, whereas Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville followed closely with 69.0 points for the eighth place. Clarion, Cleveland State, Kent State, and Edinboro, followed in succession, with Bloomsburg completing the list of competing teams.
