Janet (Risner) Staton age 79, passed away in her home Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Born June 6, 1944 in Detroit, MI to Coonie and Effie Mae (Barnett) Risner, she had been a Shelby resident since 1970.

Janet was a 1963 graduate of Willard High School and a member of the Messiah House of Prayer in Shiloh. She enjoyed going to church, talking on the phone with her sister and most of all spending time with her daughters and granddaugh­ters.

She is survived by her three daughters Christina Goodyear, Lavon Staton, & Malisa Staton all of Shelby; three granddaugh­ters Adrianna Hope Goodyear and Tori Elizabeth (Trevor) Tallman, Ronna Staton; one great granddaugh­ter Iris Tallman; one sister Anna Jean Holida of Willard; numerous step children, step grandchild­ren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Junior Staton in 2023; infant daughter Michelle Lee; son Ronnie Staton; grandson Lee Staton; infant grandson Jayden Staton; special niece Linda Gibson; seven siblings

Friends may visit the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Tuesday, March, 19, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, the 20th, at the Messiah House of Prayer at 74 Pettit St, Shiloh, Oh 44878 with Reverend Bill Howell officiatin­g. Interment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the family in care of Barkdull Funeral Home at PO Box 644 Shelby, OH 44875, to help off set funeral costs.
