Ohio Arts Council distributes over $340,000 in grants
COLUMBUS – The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) board has approved a significant funding initiative, announcing the allocation of 122 grants totaling $343,922.
These grants seek to support a wide range of arts endeavors across Ohio, benefiting artists, cultural organizations, students, educators, and public arts programs. This round of funding marks the fourth for the state’s fiscal year 2024, showcasing the OAC’S continued commitment to the arts sector.

Arts Council, emphasized the impact of these grants, stating, “The Ohio Arts Council continues to invest in our state’s arts sector to bolster the economy, enhance education, and support cultural experiences in communities.
“On behalf of our board, we leverage our role to generate positive returns on investment and support access to the arts across Ohio,” she said in the March 20 announcement.
The grants have been awarded in several key areas, and application opportunities are continuing in many programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2025.
Notably, the funding includes:
– Artist programs: The Artists with Disabilities Access Program, receiving 30 grants totaling $63,068, aims to provide resources for individual artists with disabilities to further their artistic development.
– Project support: This category includes Capacity Building, with 23 grants totaling $64,400 to help organizations engage outside expertise for business improvements; ARTSRISE, with 22 grants totaling $105,000, designed to expand access to diverse participants; and Fund Every County, receiving 27 grants totaling $104,007 to ensure funding reaches all 88 Ohio counties.
– Arts Learning: The Big Yellow School Bus program, with 20 grants totaling $7,447, assists schools and educational groups in covering transportation costs to arts and cultural activities.
Of the 122 grants awarded, 25 have been allocated to central Ohio.
The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically.
