Huron County Community Foundation awards over $28,000 in community grants
At the March meeting of its Board of Directors, Huron County Community Foundation awarded $28,017 in charitable community grants to several Huron County non-profits and schools. Projects awarded fill critical needs, create opportunities for youth, and further contribute to a thriving community.
Huron County Community Foundation’s Board of Directors identified priorities around the youth of the community, whether that be the food that nourishes them and their families or offering art and cultural experiences to expand their world view.
Organizations and Projects Awarded in the 2024 Round 1 Grants Cycle
• Norwalk Area United Fund, Huron County Imagination Library $5,000
• Willard City Schools, Frost to Feast: Enhancing Agricultural Learning with Freeze Drying $2,742
• Camp Conger, Inc., AED and First Aid Kit Needed for Camp $1,275
• Bellevue Society for the Arts, Licensing for Alice in Wonderland Junior $1,500
• Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Special Symphony Stars $2,000
• Norwalk Public Library, Aunt Flow $2,000
• Norwalk Economic Development Corp., Launch of Huron County Growth Partnership $3,000
• Norwalk Arts Center, Licensing for Seussical $1,500
• Ohgo, Feed the Children Kid Pantry and School Pantries $5,000
• Lifewise Academy – New London, New Lifewise Academy New London Building Security System $4,000
