Domestic violence, March 18, 9:51 p.m., N. Gamble, The Shelby

Police Department responded to 48 N. Gamble in reference to a report of Domestic Violence. Upon arrival and investigat­ion the juvenile offender was found to be the aggressor and was charged with Domestic Violence.

Breaking and entering, March 18, 2:36 p.m., North Third, A male contacted

the department in regards to someone coming into his apartment located at N Third St but did not take anything. However, after policed arrived the male stated there were items missing. Police arrived and spoke with the male and female at the residence who stated that the male and female left with their doors locked at approximat­ely 0830 hrs and when the male returned home he noticed the front door to the apartment to be opened. Police spoke with the male about the incident where he stated numerous items were taken from the residence. After reviewing the facts, police believed the subjects claims appeared to be suspicious.

Fight, March 19, 8:26 a.m., Ryan, Police were detailed to main office about a fight. After a short investigat­ion it was evident that both suspects voluntaril­y engaged in a fight while at school and were both issued summons for disorderly conduct. The suspects are to appear in Richland County Juvenile

Court when notified.

Traffic stop, March 19, 8:54 p.m., Second, On the stated date and time, an officer performed a traffic stop near Second St for a non-registered vehicle.

Disorderly person, March 20, 10:46 a.m., Ryan, Police transporte­d a disorderly student home.

Theft, March 20, 6:16 p.m., Mansfield Ave., Officer was dispatched to a theft that occurred at a business. The manager was able to provide a photo of the suspect. The suspect was identified by Officers. On March 21, 2024, the suspect arrived at the business. Officers were called to the store to arrest the suspect. The suspect was placed under arrest for the theft and booked into the Shelby Jail. The suspect will have court.

Theft, March 21, 11:44 a.m., N. Gamble,

Officers were dispatched N. Gamble in reference to a cell phone that was stolen. Officers made contact with the victim and he advised that the phone was stolen in October. He stated that the suspect has started to access his Google account informatio­n and causing issues with his job. After reviewing the informatio­n, there is not enough evidence to charge the suspect.

Fire, March 21, 2:19 a.m., E. Whitney,

Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person complaint . Upon arrival it was discovered that this call was in reference to a structure fire. Shelby Fire and EMS was immediatel­y contacted and officers on scene ensured that all parties were out of the residence and in a safe area . Shelby Fire arrived on scene and extinguish­ed the fire. At this time foul play is not suspected to be the cause of the fire.

Theft, March 21, 3:23 p.m., W. Main,

Officers were dispatched to a business for a theft complaint. The owners of the business provided surveillan­ce footage that shows a customer walk into the beer cooler and put a can of an alcoholic beverage in his pocket then leave without paying. Later, officers observed the same male customer, wearing the same clothing, walking on E. Main St. The subject was detained and it was determined he was the subject involved. The male was transporte­d back to the Shelby Police Department where he was issued a summons for theft. His court date was set in Shelby Municipal Court. The male was also found to have an active warrant through the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) for Making Terroristi­c Threats and Unauthoriz­ed Use of a Motor Vehicle. The DCSO was contacted and the warrants were confirmed. The subject was then transporte­d to the Richland County Jail where he will await extraditio­n to Delaware County.
