Ohiohealth Mansfield Hospital earns ENERGY STAR Certification

Ohiohealth Mansfield Hospital has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® certification for superior energy performance. This recognition is earned by significant energy savings and reflects Ohiohealth’s dedication towards reducing its environmental footprint.

ENERGY STAR is the only energy efficiency certification in the United States that is based on actual, verified energy performance. Hospitals that receive this certification are verified to perform in the top 25% of buildings nationwide, based on weather-normalized source energy use that takes into account occupancy, hours of operation, and other key metrics.

Dr. Gingrich credits this level of success to Mansfield Hospital’s facilities team for going above and beyond, and to its construction team for considering operational efficiency as part of their construction efforts.

Mansfield Hospital’s sustainability initiative goes beyond its building. It has also installed new electric vehicle charging stations that support efforts to reduce tailpipe emissions and encourage associates and visitors to go all-electric. All of this work aligns with Ohiohealth’s Climate Pledge to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030, a stepping stone to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
