Fight, March 26, 2:47 p.m., W. Main,

A female advising three boys were in a physical altercatio­ns and two boys were wanting to speak with an officer in regards to fight. Police arrived at W Main St and spoke with the house manager who stated while picking up the 4 juveniles from school an argument broke out between three of the juveniles. Juvenile #1 threw a water bottle striking juvenile #2 in the face which ensued a physical altercatio­n between both juveniles. Juvenile #3 was nearly struck in the face by juvenile #1 who was involved in the altercatio­n so he began to attack juvenile #1 in self defense. Police photograph­ed injuries located on juvenile #1 who had what appeared to be nail marks across his throat. All three juveniles were issued court summons to Richland County Juvenile Court.

Telephone harassment, March 27, 2:40 p.m., E. Whitney,

A female contacted the department in regards to her ex-husband messaging their daughter directing the third party to deliver a message to the victim. The victim provided a screen shot of the conversati­on that was sent to her daughter by the suspect directing

a message towards the victim. There is a no contact order between both parties and therefore the suspect violated the no contact order and police went to his residence and arrested the male for violating his probation agreement through the SMC. The male was transporte­d to the department and booked into jail.

Disorderly person, March 28, 5:24 p.m., Mansfield Ave., The

Shelby Police Department received a call from a business in regards to a unruly juvenile causing a disturbanc­e at the store. Stating that the juvenile was screaming, yelling, trying to get behind the counter. Officers responded and initiated a traffic stop on the juvenile due to them having left. Officers spoke with the juvenile as well as staff, reviewed camera footage and arrested the juvenile on the charges of menacing and disorderly conduct. The juvenile was transporte­d to the Shelby Police Department where she was later released to her parents without issue.

Mental, March 29, 8:57 p.m., Grove, Officers were dispatched to the listed location for a report of family dispute. Upon arrival officers met with both parties where it was determined that the call was actually in reference to a mental health concern. Officers attempted to speak to the suspect who was in a mental health crisis. The suspect then began making statements that she would kill everyone in the house. Due to this it was determined that the suspect would need transporte­d to a hospital for an emergency committal. While attempting to detain the suspect she began resisting and fighting with officers . The suspect then began to physically assault officers until she was eventually detained. The suspect was then transporte­d to for an Emergency Committal. This report will be forwarded to Richland County Prosecutor­s Office and The Shelby City Law Director for review for Charges.

Drug offense, March 29, 2:15 a.m., Sherman,

Officers were dispatched to the listed location for a report of a possible drug overdose. Upon arrival officers met with the subject who denied overdosing and denied overdose immunity or medical attention. Drug parapherna­lia was located in the subjects immediate vicinity to which he admitted was his. As such the subject was issued a summons for Possession of Drug Parapherna­lia and given a court date.

Jail, March 29, 8:42 p.m., Mack, Officers were dispatched to the Shelby City Jail for a report of an inmate that was feeling ill. Upon arrival officers spoke to the inmate who requested a squad come evaluate him. A squad soon arrived on scene and recommende­d that the inmate be transporte­d to a hospital for evaluation. The inmate was evaluated by medical personnel then returned to the Shelby City Jail.
