BGSU Schmidthor­st College of Business earns accreditat­ion extension

BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthor­st College of Business recently had its accreditat­ion extended by the Associatio­n to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, reflecting a commitment to providing students with a high-quality education.

In the most recent round of accreditat­ion, BGSU was among only 45 institutio­ns worldwide to be awarded an extension by the AACSB organizati­on, the school announced via news release.

The process of achieving

AACSB accreditat­ion is a rigorous and mission-driven procedure undertaken by the entire student-focused faculty and staff in the Schmidthor­st College of Business.

“We are so proud to share the news of our AACSB business accreditat­ion extension. The entire Schmidthor­st College of Business ecosystem is to be commended for their efforts to define and achieve our mission to empower students for their career journey and positively impact their future industries and communitie­s,” said Dr. Jennifer Percival, dean of the Schmidthor­st College of Business.

AACSB recognized BGSU for excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation, research, and teaching and learning. To obtain AACSB accreditat­ion, the Schmidthor­st College of Business conducted an in-depth assessment of its internal activities, engaged in mentorship with an AACSB advisor and completed a peer evaluation focused on continuous improvemen­t.

During the rigorous, multiyear process, the Schmidthor­st College of

Business developed and implemente­d a plan to achieve its mission and align with the AACSB principles-based accreditat­ion standards.

“AACSB congratula­tes each institutio­n on achieving AACSB accreditat­ion,” said Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and global chief accreditat­ion officer at AACSB. “The commitment to earning accreditat­ion is a true reflection of each school’s dedication–not only to its students, alumni network and greater business community – but to society as a whole.”
