Fight, April 17, 9:31 a.m., Whippet Way, Two male

juvenile students were escorted to the office in reference to a fight in the boy ‘s bathroom. One student was charged with disorderly conduct, discipline­d by the school, and released to his mother.

Domestic violence, April 17, 8:49 p.m., Shelby,

Officers were dispatched to Shelby Ave. for two males fighting. When Officers arrived on scene, one of the males were detained and the other male had fled before Officers arrived on scene. Officers interviewe­d witnesses and the alleged victim. Officers attempted to locate the alleged suspect, but he could not be located. The alleged victim was provided with victim rights informatio­n, photos were taken of his injuries, and statements were obtained. On April 18, 2024, the alleged suspect was located and it was determined that the alleged victim was the actual suspect. The victim did not want to pursue charges as along as the suspect went to rehabilita­tion. The suspects Parole Officer was contacted and the suspect will be completing a 12 month rehabilita­tion program. Per the 18, 8:24 p.m., W. Main,

Traffic stop, April 22, 11:23 a.m., Walnut, Police

were sitting stationary in the parking lot on Walnut St facing south. At that location police observed a small passenger vehicle turn onto Walnut St from Main St and travel south at a high rate of speed. After the vehicle passed by the location police activated the radar and received a target reading of 38 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. The vehicle’s speed increased to 42 MPH. Police locked that reading on their target display and pulled onto Walnut St and activated overhead emergency lights and siren . The vehicle turned onto W Tucker, between Walnut and Gamble, before pulling to the side of the road. Police made contact with the driver and advised him the reason for the stop. The driver admitted to not having a drivers license. The driver explained he was driving his mothers vehicle and traveling to the gas station to purchase cigarettes. The driver was removed from the vehicle, patted down and placed in the cruiser where police identified him with my MDT. A check of the drivers informatio­n through LEADS revealed the driver was currently under an OVI Suspension issued from Crawford Municipal Court, a 12-Point Suspension, multiple Noncomplia­nce Suspension­s and numerous Failure to Reinstate numerous suspension­s. Police issued the driver a citation for Driving Under an OVI Suspension and Speed. The driver was given a court and released to his mother who had been transporte­d to the scene by a friend. The mother, who was the registered owner of the vehicle, was advised the driver did not have a drivers license. Vehicle insurance was not shown at the scene.

Property damage, April 23, 8:58 p.m., Marvin,

The complainan­t contacted the police department in reference to a baseball being thrown through her fence at the rear of the property. Police arrived and observed the damage and recovered the baseball. The fence was a white synthetic type privacy fence. Police made contact with the juvenile at the residence behind the fence who explained he had thrown the ball that went through the fence. He stated he attempted to make contact with the neighbor, but she wasn’t home. Police later spoke with the juveniles father and he stated either tonight or tomorrow his son and him would contact the neighbor and make arrangemen­ts to have the fence repaired. The complainan­t stated they were ok with that arrangemen­t.

Officers were dispatched to High School Ave. in reference to an Assault. Upon arrival and investigat­ion, the victim declined to pursue the matter criminally. A report was generated documentin­g the incident.

Juvenile complaint, April 23, 1:32 p.m., Ryan,

The parent and student arrived at the police department to report an issue of bullying at the occurred 04/17 – 04/18/2024 at the listed location. The parent explained the school is conducting an investigat­ion, but she wanted a report on file. Police advised the parent they would complete a report and forward it to SRO so the school was made aware.

Vehicle complaint, April 23, 1:29 a.m., Broadway/ Main, Officers made contact

with the listed suspect after multiple vehicle complaints . During a roadside investigat­ion the suspect was found to be under the influence of alcohol and under 21 years of age. The suspect was issued a summons for Underage Alcohol Consumptio­n and is to appear in SMC.
