› “I was a late adapter of dig­i­tal be­cause dig­i­tal pho­tog­ra­phy all through the ’90s was garbage,” Ja­son Peter­son says. “It wasn’t un­til I shot a photo on my iphone 5 that I was like, This looks like a Hiroshi Sugi­moto shot—i’m an art di­rec­tor, and I love ev­ery­thing in its place, and Sugi­moto’s shots are as much graphic as they are pho­to­graphic, and that’s what I re­ally love about his work.”

› Re­al­iz­ing there was now some­thing to dig­i­tal, he took a closer look, and to­day he shoots with three Le­icas in ad­di­tion to his iphone X—the

M10 dig­i­tal rangefinder, the mirrorless SL, and the com­pact Q. He has a num­ber of Le­ica lenses, in­clud­ing the Vario-el­marit-sl 24-90mm f/2.8-4 and the Su­per-vario-el­mar-tl 11-23mm f/3.5-4.5.

› He also has a DJI Mavic Pro drone that he takes ev­ery­where.
