Dorthy Marie Harless, 75, of Watts, Okla., died Jan. 14, 2017, at her home.

She was born July 24, 1941, at home in Adair County, Okla., to Tomas and Grace Ames. She worked for Simmons Industries and Leisure Time Outdoor. She enjoyed spending time with family, puzzles, flowers, doing yard work, Little Debbie’s and eating at Hunan Village.

She was preceded in death by five children, Marilyn Sue LaRue, Amanda Louise LaRue, Calvin Ray LaRue, Jane Harless and Irene Harless; two sisters, Ruthie Janes and Josie Ames; and two brothers, Clifford Ames Sr and Eddie Ames.

She is survived by five children, Jolinda Kay Ballou and husband Clint of Locust Grove, Okla., Johnny LaRue of Lowell, Ark., Diana Lynn Chamberlai­n and husband Jimmy of Colcord, Okla., Henry William Harless Jr and wife Sue of Grove, Okla., and Barbara Cross of Grove; six grandchild­ren; eight great-grandchild­ren; one sister, Irene Harrison and husband Roy of West Siloam Springs, Okla.; and two brothers, Melvin Ames and Dee Ames, both of Watts.

A funeral service was held Jan. 17, 2016, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs. Burial was at Bell Cemetery in Watts, Okla.

Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark., was in charge of arrangemen­ts.
