Siloam Springs Republican Women
The Siloam Springs Republican Women will meet Jan. 23 at 318 E. Main St. (Old Bank Building). Coffee time is 6:30 p.m., and the program at 7 p.m. The 2017 officers will be installed by Carrie Perrin-Smith, past president of the Benton County Republican Women. Special speaker will be the Siloam Springs Chief of Police, Jim Wilmeth. This is an open meeting and the community is welcome. For further information call 479-524-3461.
Legislators to speak
Three regional legislators will visit Siloam Springs in person during the 2017 session of the Arkansas General Assembly to communicate with and listen to citizens.
State Representatives Robin Lundstrum and Dan Douglas and State Senator Jim Hendren will discuss current legislation and citizens’ concerns in one-hour sessions on three upcoming Saturdays, Jan. 28, Feb. 25 and March 25. The local gatherings will be held downtown from 11 a.m. to noon in the Arvest Bank Community Room downtown. The lawmakers will hold similar meetings beforehand in Bentonville and Rogers on the same days, as well as other scheduled days. No reservations are required, and citizens are welcome. There will be no charge and no refreshments will be served.

Siloam Springs Toastmasters Club
The Siloam Springs Toastmasters Club meets each Thursday of every month at DaySpring Corporate Offices from 12 to 1 p.m. Guests are welcome. The Toastmasters program offers many benefits that help people in all walks of life. As a result of participating in Toastmasters, members:
• Increase self-confidence
• Become a better speaker
• Become a better leader
• Communicate more effectively
Some companies reimburse their employee for membership dues and give hourly credit toward employee training. The club welcomes any local company interested in hosting a demo meeting to contact the club.

Senior exercise options
The Walton Lifetime Health Complex on the campus of John Brown University is a participating facility for both SilverSneakers and Silver&Fit programs. These programs are designed for senior Medicare/Medicaid eligible members and offer a unique blend of physical activity for all. Classes are offered five days a week and are taught by certified instructors. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. There also is a class that meets in the indoor pool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday called “Splash.” If eligible, a SilverSneakers or Silver&Fit membership could be covered by insurance at no charge or for a maximum of $25 a year. Fundraiser breakfast/ band
The Siloam Springs Senior Activity and Wellness Center will host a weekly fundraiser breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Friday at the center, located at 750 Heritage Court. The fundraiser is open to all ages.
The center will also host the OK Country Band at 1 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. The performance is free and open to anyone.
