Kansas teams win at Westville

WESTVILLE, Okla. — The Kansas (Okla.) basketball teams picked up wins Monday at Westville.

The Lady Comets improved to 9-2 overall with a 58-31 win over Westville, while the Comets are now 8-3 after a 56-41 win over the Yellowjack­ets.

Both teams’ games against Sperry last week were postponed. On Tuesday of last week, the Kansas girls beat Chouteau 78-46, while the boys beat Chouteau 64-59.

Kansas returns to action Thursday through Saturday this week in the Tri-State Classic in Jay, Okla.

Colcord

Colcord’s boys-girls doublehead­er at Commerce last Friday was postponed. Prior to that on Jan. 10, both Colcord teams lost at Oklahoma Union. The Lady Hornets dropped a 70-51 score, while the Colcord boys fell 71-53.

Both teams were scheduled to host Fairland on Tuesday. Results were not available at presstime.

Both Colcord teams are scheduled to play Thursday through Saturday in the Chouteau Tournament.

Oaks

The Oaks boys lost to Savanna 72-56 in the final round of the Arkansas River Shootout on Saturday. The Warriors picked up a win 80-68 on Friday against Hulbert after losing to Webbers Falls 79-69 earlier in the week on Jan. 10.

The Oaks girls defeated Webbers Falls 47-38 on Jan. 10.

Both Oaks teams were scheduled to host Cave Springs on Tuesday night. Results were not available at presstime. Oaks is scheduled to play in the Keifer Tournament on Thursday through Saturday of this week.

Watts

The Watts girls picked up a 50-30 win Monday against Lifeway Christian (Ark.). Watts also defeated Braggs on Friday night 53-38. The Lady Engineers suffered losses last week on Jan. 10 to Bluejacket 63-28 and Leflore 59-15.

The Watts boys suffered losses last week on Jan. 10 to Bluejacket 59-53 and Porum 64-60 in the Webbers Falls Tournament.

Both Watts teams play this week in the NEO Tournament in Miami, Okla.
