Daddy-Daughter Dance
Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation will host its annual Daddy-Daughter Dance on Feb. 10-11 at the Siloam Springs Community Building, located at 110 North Mount Olive.
There are two dances for girls in fourth grade-and-younger — Friday, Feb. 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. The dance for girls in fifth-grade and older is Saturday, Feb. 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Cost is $20 for one dad and up to two daughters, with $5 for each additional daughter.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Parks and Recreation office located at 120 South Mt. Olive Street through 5 p.m. on Feb. 10. Participants are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. There will not be ticket sales at the door.

Writers Guild to meet Feb. 13
The Siloam Springs Writers Guild will meet on Monday evening, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 2000 W. Dawn Hill Road, west entrance. Rosemary Matthews will present a lesson on “How to Write Poetry.” February assignments are: Prose — Presidential Stories; Poetry — a Love Sonnet of 14 lines. The Writers welcome all interested poets and writers of prose to attend. Coffee and cookies will be served.
Legislators to speak
Three regional legislators will visit Siloam Springs in person during the 2017 session of the Arkansas General Assembly to communicate with and listen to citizens.
State Representatives Robin Lundstrum and Dan Douglas and State Senator Jim Hendren will discuss current legislation and citizens’ concerns in one-hour sessions on three upcoming Saturdays, Jan. 28, Feb. 25 and March 25. The local gatherings will be held downtown from 11 a.m. to noon in the Arvest Bank Community Room downtown. The lawmakers will hold similar meetings beforehand in Bentonville and Rogers on the same days, as well as other scheduled days. No reservations are required, and citizens are welcome. There will be no charge and no refreshments will be served.

Siloam Springs Toastmasters Club
The Siloam Springs Toastmasters Club meets each Thursday of every month at Day-Spring Corporate Offices from 12 to 1 p.m. Guests are welcome. The Toastmasters program offers many benefits that help people in all walks of life. As a result of participating in Toastmasters, members: • Increase self-confidence • Become a better speaker • Become a better leader • Communicate more effectively
Some companies reimburse their employee for membership dues and give hourly credit toward employee training. The club welcomes any local company interested in hosting a demo meeting to contact the club.
