MENTORSHIP MATTERS
Results of a recent Big Brothers Big Sisters survey show that children who were matched with a mentor had the following results:
• 86 percent had improved self-confidence
• 93 percent had improved peer relationships
• 81 percent had improved attitude towards school
• 76 percent had improved school attendance
• 92 percent had improved ability to avoid fights/use physical violence
• 72 percent had improved in their trust to talk about life issues with an adult
• 83 percent had improved sense of the outlook for their future.
