Free developmental screening
Friendship Community Care is offering free developmental screenings for children from birth to 5 years. Screenings will focus on development of fine and gross motor skills, speech skills and overall development. Call Friendship at 479-524-2456 to schedule an appointment.

Animals for adoption on Web
An increasing number of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens without homes are coming into the Siloam Springs Animal Shelter.
Adoptable animals can be seen at www.siloamsprings. com. The Siloam Springs Animal Shelter, located at 200A North Lincoln, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Wednesdays when it’s closed for maintenance. It’s open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Additional times are available by appointment. Call 479-524-6535 for information. If you have lost your pet, search the surrounding neighborhood and then visit or call Animal Services. Pets not claimed within five days are subject to adoption.
Fiber Artist Workshop
Gene Shepherd of Anaheim, Calif., will be teaching a beginners rug hooking workshop on April 17 and 18 at Community Christian Fellowship in Siloam Springs. Art Ability
Ability Tree will host an interactive art program for children with or without special needs. The art program will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Feb. 21, Feb. 28, March 7, March 14, March 28 and April 4. An art show will be held on April 19. Legislators to speak
Three regional legislators will visit Siloam Springs in person during the 2017 session of the Arkansas General Assembly to communicate with and listen to citizens.
State Representatives Robin Lundstrum and Dan Douglas and State Senator Jim Hendren will discuss current legislation and citizens’ concerns in one-hour sessions on three upcoming Saturdays, Feb. 25 and March 25. The local gatherings will be held downtown from 11 a.m. to noon in the Arvest Bank Community Room downtown. The lawmakers will hold similar meetings beforehand in Bentonville and Rogers on the same days, as well as other scheduled days. No reservations are required, and citizens are welcome. There will be no charge and no refreshments will be served.

Fundraiser breakfast/ band
The Siloam Springs Senior Activity and Wellness Center will host a weekly fundraiser breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Friday at the center, located at 750 Heritage Court. The fundraiser is open to all ages. The center will also host the OK Country Band at 1 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. The performance is free and open to anyone.
