Ninth-grade boys earn victory at Rogers

ROGERS — The Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys won their second straight game Monday night with a 35-30 victory at Rogers.

The Panthers (9-8) trailed 10-8 after the first quarter and pulled into a 15-15 tie with the Mounties at halftime.

The Panthers outscored the Mounties 15-9 int he third quarter to take a 30-24 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Max Perkins led the Panthers with 12 points, while Breck Soderquist had 11, Jackson Ford five, Solomon Hufford four and Elijah Coffey, Ethan Drake and Jared Clark each with one.

Rogers won the ninthgrade girls game 36-29.

The game was tied 6-6 after the first quarter and 15-15 at halftime. Siloam Springs took a 22-19 lead going into the fourth quarter where Rogers outscored the Lady Panthers 17-7.

Julia Jackson finished with 10 points to lead the Lady Panthers (11-6), while Quincy Efurd had eight, Jadyn Still five, Sydney Moorman four and Mia Hevener two.

The ninth-graders return to action at home Thursday against Springdale Central.

Eighth grade

FAYETTEVIL­LE — The eighth-grade girls were defeated by Woodland 42-10.

Woodland led 26-2 at halftime and outscored the Lady Panthes 16-8 in the second half.

Halle Hernandez led the Lady Panthers (5-7) with five points, while Naomi Boyd had two and Hannah Riley, Reina Tiefel and Baylie Tate each with one.

The eighth-grade boys were also defeated 46-19 at Woodland. Statistics were not available at presstime.

The eighth-graders return to action Wednesday at Bentonvill­e Fulbright and at Springdale Central on Thursday.
