Chamber of Commerce to celebrate new office
■ The former Herald-Leader location was renovated to create new space for the Chamber of Commerce.
The Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce has moved to its new location. The Chamber purchased the former Herald-Leader building at 101 N. Mt. Olive and has renovated half of the building for Chamber offices. The other half is leased to New Heights Church for administrative offices.
On Friday, April 6, the Chamber will host First Friday Coffee (sponsored by OnIt) at 7:30 a.m. A ribbon-cutting at 8 a.m. and open house until 4 p.m. are also scheduled Friday.
The Chamber staff and board of directors are eager to show off their new space, which includes a board room suitable for board and committee meetings, seminars and small events, according to Wayne Mays, president and CEO.
Everyone is welcome and reservations are not necessary for any of the events.
After 10 years in their previous location at 108 East University, the Chamber Board of Directors saw the need for more space for their current staff of five. They also have a vision

for a “Maker Space” to serve business start-ups, entrepreneurs, small businesses and industries needing training on high-tech equipment.
The long-term goal is to designate 800 to 1,000 square feet of space for machines, co-working spaces, and small classes. The first piece of equipment, a 3D printer, has already been purchased and will be operating and on display during the event on April 6.
Special guests invited to the April 6 ribbon-cutting include all former board chairs of the Chamber.
“We want to honor the individuals who have served and provided leadership to our organization as board chairs since 1930, when we started,” Mays said. “We owe a debt of gratitude to them and their employers. We recognize that our organization was built on their efforts.”
