Alvin Dennis Brinegar, age 81, of Siloam Springs, Ark., passed away June 14, 2018, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Winfred Brinegar and Mary Alice (Mamie) Larson Brinegar; and sisters, Inez Larson, Veda Cooper, Doris Edwards and Joy Cordova.

He is survived by his spouse, Nelda Marie Parker Brinegar of the home; his son, Dennis and wife Karen of Siloam Springs; his two daughters, Bonny and husband Larry Huls of Westville, Okla.; Donna and husband Brian Dennis of Siloam Springs, Ark.; brother, Winfred Brinegar and wife Jean of Poteau, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Alvin was born at home in Hiwasse, Ark., in 1937. He attended school at Hiwasse Public School, Ozark Academy in Gentry and graduated Gravette High School. He was married to his lovely wife Nelda in Springdale, Ark., on Dec. 29, 1956, by Pastor Carner.

Alvin was a member of the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist church and attended faithfully with his family. He was a music lover and played violin, wrote lyrics and enjoyed family music jams. He especially loved to listen to his nephew Kerry Brinegar play guitar and sing. He was a private pilot, a certified scuba diver, canoed, camped and loved family and church outings.

A 4th generation Master Carpenter/Craftsman, Alvin built custom homes in Ark., Md., Tenn., churches, Glenwood Country Club and banks in Arkansas, high rise motels on the beaches of Maryland, medical centers, nursing homes and more. But most of all, he built a family that loved him dearly. He will be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held at the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 24, 2018, to celebrate his life. To sign the online guestbook, visit www. wassonfuneralhome.com.
