Sherry Kay Adams

Sherry Kay Adams, 66, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died June

13, 2018, at the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born June 19, 1951, in Lawrence, Kan., to Delbert Smith and Wilma Eagleton. She worked at Simmons Foods and then owned her own cake business until becoming blind. She enjoyed spending time with family, camping, having cookouts at the lake, gardening, fishing, dancing and dressing up. She loved the color yellow and collected bells and hummingbir­ds.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Richard Bruce Adams; her father Delbert Smith and wife Carol; her mother Wilma Eagleton and husband Joe Young; three brothers, Larry Dean Kelley, Michael Young and Billy Young; and two sisters, Pamela Diehl and Margaret VanDyke.

She is survived by two sons, David Scott Jones and wife Debbie, and Richard Adams and wife Ninah, all of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Donna Adams, and Denice Hanan and husband Scott, all of Siloam Springs; one sister, Rosemary Palacios of Siloam Springs; one brother, David Young of Watts, Okla.; 12 grandchild­ren; eight great-grandchild­ren; and two great-great-grandchild­ren.

A memorial service is planned for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gentry, Ark.

Alvin Dennis Brinegar

Alvin Dennis Brinegar, age 81 of Siloam Springs, Ark., passed away June 14, 2018, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Winfred Brinegar and Mary Alice (Mamie) Larson Brinegar; and sisters, Inez Larson, Veda Cooper, Doris Edwards and Joy Cordova.

He is survived by his spouse, Nelda Marie Parker Brinegar of the home; his son, Dennis and wife Karen of Siloam Springs; his two daughters, Bonny and husband Larry Huls of Westville, Okla.; Donna and husband Brian Dennis of Siloam Springs, Ark.; brother, Winfred Brinegar and wife Jean of Poteau, Okla.; 11 grandchild­ren; 14 great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces and nephews.

Alvin was born at home in Hiwasse, Ark., in 1937. He attended school at Hiwasse Public School, Ozark Academy in Gentry and graduated Gravette High School. He was married to his lovely wife Nelda in Springdale, Ark., on Dec. 29, 1956, by Pastor Carner.

Alvin was a member of the Gentry Seventh-Day Adventist church and attended faithfully with his family. He was a music lover and played violin, wrote lyrics and enjoyed family music jams. He especially loved to listen to his nephew Kerry Brinegar play guitar and sing. He was a private pilot, a certified scuba diver, canoed, camped and loved family and church outings.

A 4th generation Master Carpenter/Craftsman, Alvin built custom homes in Arkansas, Maryland, Tennessee, churches, Glenwood Country Club and banks in Arkansas, high rise motels on the beaches of Maryland, medical centers, nursing homes and more. But most of all, he built a family that loved him dearly. He will be missed by many.

Fredric William Dohle

Fredric William Dohle, 80, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Washington Regional Medical Center.

Fredric was born on June 26, 1937, in Anderson, Missouri, to Robert and Iva Dohle. He enjoyed watching westerns, mowing, tinkering with any item that could be fixed, and a good meal. He had a hobby for farming, anything technical, especially computers and satellite dishes. Most of all, he cherished his time with his family and his two dogs, Mitzi and Poptart.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Dohle of the home; three sons, Michael W. Dohle of Siloam Springs, Ark., James R. Dohle of Siloam Springs, Ark., Terry E. Dohle of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Larraine Ross of Ozark, Ark., Rhonda Dohle of Siloam Springs, Ark.; seven grandchild­ren, Alicia, Nicole, Kyle, Isaac, Ariahnna, Hailey, Jordan; and four greatgrand­children, Riley, Brighton, Adaline, and Paisley.

Carolyn Kay Evans

Carolyn Kay Evans, 79, died June 16, 2018, in Clinton, Okla.

She was born April 27, 1939, to Francis and Nina May Hay Mosteller. She married Ivan “Doc” Evans and the couple had three children. She married Chris Castillo in 1986 and they made their home in West Siloam Springs, Okla., until October of 2017 when they returned to Clinton. She was a member of the Eastern Stars. She worked at the Dewey County Sheriff’s Office from 1978 to 1986. She spent the remainder of her career as a ward clerk, starting at Seiling Hospital and retiring from Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Arkansas. She also worked as a teacher’s aide and enjoyed mentoring children over the years.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ann Junkins Haws; and one brother-in-law, James Junkins.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Castillo of Clinton; three children, Kimberly Chenoweth of Clinton, Kevin Evans and his wife Alice of Clinton and Jae Evans of Salt Lake City, Utah; five grandchild­ren; and three greatgrand­children.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22 at the Cumberland Presbyteri­an Church, located at 500 S. 30th, Clinton, OK. Interment will be at the Mound Cemetery in Taloga, Okla.

Ava Eilene Griffin

Ava Griffin, 95, of Logan Community, Benton County, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, in Springdale, Arkansas.

Born De- cember 17,

1922, in Evening Star Community near Cave Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Jim Heagerty and May Blair Heagerty.

Ava was a graduate of Vaughn High School where she played basketball and went by the nickname “Hank.” She married Lee Griffin January 24, 1943, in Logan, and together they owned and operated a dairy farm. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was a long-time active member of Highfill Methodist Church. Ava was also a 4-H leader and remained active in the Benton County organizati­on until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee and one great-granddaugh­ter, Blythe Lee Irby.

Survivors include a son, Jim Griffin and wife Jackie of Logan Community; two daughters, Nancy Irby and husband John of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Jeanie Strasner and husband Steve of Russellvil­le, Arkansas; six grandsons, Clayton Irby and wife Andrea, Sam Strasner and wife Heather, Scott Strasner and wife Jodi, Jessie Griffin and wife Rachel, Stan Strasner, and Lee Griffin and wife Casey; two granddaugh­ters, Christa Arnold and husband Johathan and Julie Griffin; three greatgrand­sons, Knox Griffin, Hank Griffin, Seth Strasner; and six great-granddaugh­ters, Morgan Stevens, Layla Irby, Preslee Arnold, Sophie Strasner, Lyric Griffin and Jordyn Arnold.

Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Funeral services will 2 p.m. Saturday,

Peggy Ann Hillis

Peggy Ann Hillis, 67, of Colcord, Okla., died Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Quail Ridge Nursing Home.

She was born on May 9, 1951, in Hobart, Okla., the daughter of Kermit Burrough and Larue Adkins Burrough. She attended the church services at Quail Ridge, liked playing bingo and singing, and also wrote poetry and songs.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Carnes of Westville, Okla., and Sara Hillis of Colcord; one son, James Hillis of Gentry, Ark.; one brother of Colcord; and six grandchild­ren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Johnson Cemetery.

Carl Julius Kindle

Carl Julius Kindle, 82, of Colcord, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab.

Carl was born on December 27, 1935, to Claude and Marie Kindle in Romona, Oklahoma. He married his wife, Barbara Ann in November of 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Most of his life he was a truck driver for himself and D.M.T. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by his daughters, Paula Partain of Colcord, Okla., Karen McClain of California, Sue Jaramillo of California; 11 Grandchild­ren; seven Great-Grandchild­ren; and three Great-Great-Grandchild­ren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Marie Kindle; his wife, Barbara Ann Kindle; one son, Jimmy Taylor; and his siblings.

Visitation will be held at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
