Aileen H. Covey

Aileen H. Covey, 90-year-old res­i­dent of Gen­try, Ar­kan­sas, died June 22, 2018, at Siloam Springs Nurs­ing and Rehab, Siloam Springs, Ar­kan­sas. Born May 16, 1928, in Maysville, Ar­kan­sas, she was the daughter of Frank Haddock and Eu­nice Bougher Haddock. Aileen was a re­tired sec­re­tary and was ac­tive in the Gen­try Se­nior Cen­ter. She was a mem­ber of Gen­try United Methodist Church.

Survivors in­clude her daughter, Jackie Bader of Gen­try, Ar­kan­sas; grand­son, Paul Wade of Gen­try, Ar­kan­sas; grand­daugh­ter, Brandy Cordeiro and hus­band Mike of Gen­try, Ar­kan­sas; great-grand­chil­dren: Shelby Wade, Brently Wade, Fa­lyn Cordeiro and Brynn Cordeiro; great-great-grand­child, Em­mitt Tay­lor; daughter she raised, Janet Covey Novotny of Ea­gle, Idaho; grand­child, Lindsey Steel and her chil­dren, Covey and Eilee Steel.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Mon­day, June 25, 2018, Gen­try United Methodist Church, Gen­try, Ar­kan­sas. Burial fol­lowed at Maysville Ceme­tery, Maysville, Ar­kan­sas. Mina Belle Hol­comb

Mina Belle Hol­comb, 90, of Siloam Springs, Ar­kan­sas, passed away Satur­day, June 23, 2018, at her home.

Mina was born on June 17, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter of Alvi Rob­bins and Ester Miller Rob­bins. She mar­ried Har­ley Hol­comb on April 1, 1945, in Phelps, Mis­souri, who pre­ceded her in death in 2012.

Mina en­joyed be­ing a housewife, rais­ing her five chil­dren and many fos­ter chil­dren. She loved hav­ing her grand­chil­dren around as much as pos­si­ble and ab­so­lutely loved to see and hold all in­fants.

Mina also held a strong faith in Je­sus Christ and prayed con­stantly for her chil­dren and grand­chil­dren, as well as any­one she met and in­ter­acted with. She en­joyed vol­un­teer­ing to play the pi­ano and or­gan in church. She was a mem­ber of the De­catur As­sem­bly of God.

She is sur­vived by one son, David Hol­comb of Siloam Springs; four daugh­ters, Carolyn Gor­don of Siloam Springs, Mar­i­lyn Mapes and hus­band Ed­die of Aurora, Mis­souri, Bar­bara Reynolds and hus­band Dule of Siloam Springs, and Holly Shack­elford and hus­band Butch of Fayet­teville, Ar­kan­sas; three sis­ters, her twin Lil­lie Howard of Ash Grove, Mis­souri, Ava­lyn Jones of Ash Grove, and Goldie Bailey of Mt. Ver­non, Mis­souri; 11 grand­chil­dren, 23 great-grand­chil­dren and 10 great-great-grand­chil­dren.

She was also pre­ceded in death by one brother, John Rob­bins.

Visi­ta­tion will be held at the Back­strom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Thurs­day, June 28, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Wes­ley ‘Wes’ C. Lyons

Wes­ley “Wes” C. Lyons, 61 of Au­gusta, Kan., passed away peace­fully Wed­nes­day, June 13, 2018. He was born in Siloam Springs, Ark., and was pre­ceded in death by his mother, Max­ine (Tom) Rouch; fa­ther, Audis Lyons; and broth­ers, Jimmy and Calvin Lyons.

Wes is sur­vived by his fi­ancée, Tamre Martin of Au­gusta, Kan.; brother, Larry Lyons of Wi­chita, Kan.; step­daugh­ter, Jessie (Caleb); grand­chil­dren, Zack­ery (Rachel), Madi­son and Andy; four nieces and neph­ews; cousins and dear friends.

Wes was a tool­maker at Spirit Aerosys­tems in Wi­chita, Kan., and en­joyed his time away from work at home in the coun­try, hunt­ing, fish­ing, driv­ing dirt roads and spend­ing time with his fam­ily and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Flut­ter­bye Ranch, 1001 SW 140th St. Au­gusta, Kan., on July 13, 2018, from 5 to 9 p.m. Food and drink will be pro­vided and Brody Caster will be play­ing mu­sic fol­low­ing dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Cur­tis Ray Reeves

Cur­tis Ray Reeves, 89, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died June 23, 2018, at Siloam Springs Nurs­ing and Rehab.

He was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Baskin, La., to Ge­orge Reeves and Minnie Richard­son Reeves. He mar­ried He­len Schepis Sher­rouse on Feb. 14, 1984, in Bren­ham, Texas. He was a for­mer em­ployee of Bren­ham State School and a mem­ber of Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 29. He served in the U.S. Army dur­ing Korea.

He was pre­ceded in death by two broth­ers and one sis­ter.

He is sur­vived by his wife; four chil­dren, Stu­art Reeves of Siloam Springs, Clau­dia Reeves of Rich­land Hills, Texas, Doyle Reeves and wife Vicki of Bur­ton, Texas, and Am­ber Reeves Fletcher of Rich­land Hills; blended fam­ily, Wayne Sher­rouse and wife Kami of Bren­ham, Phyl­lis Sher­rouse Homeyer and hus­band Ron of Siloam Springs, and Luke Sher­rouse and wife Mer­lyn of Bren­ham; and sev­eral grand­chil­dren and great grand­chil­dren.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held 2 p.m. Fri­day, June 29, 2018, at Was­son Me­mo­rial Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Doris J. Thrailkill

Doris J. Thrailkill, 69, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died June 22, 2018, at her home.

She was born Feb. 6, 1949, in Clarksville, Ark., to Ray­mond Mor­land and Reba Havner Mor­land. She re­tired from Mc­Kee Foods.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band; one brother; and three sis­ters.

She is sur­vived by a daughter, An­gela Thrailkill of Siloam Springs; three sons, An­thony Thrailkill of Siloam Springs, Christo­pher Thrailkill of Chewey, Okla., and Bobby Thrailkill of Watts, Okla.; three grand­chil­dren; and a sis­ter, Louise Hicks of La­mar, Ark.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Satur­day, June 30, 2018, at Was­son Me­mo­rial Chapel in Siloam Springs. Burial will fol­low at Spring­town Ceme­tery in Spring­town, Ark. Visi­ta­tion will be noon un­til ser­vice time, at Was­son Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
