Lieutenant Colonel Robert Davis Childre
Lieutenant Colonel Robert Davis Childre took his last flight on January 23, 2021. Bob was born May 8, 1928, in Douglas, Georgia, to Frank and Muriel (Davis) Childre.
Lieutenant Colonel Childre was devoted to his family and his country. As a young boy he dreamed of flying and was able to accomplish this goal as a young Air Force Cadet and later as an Air Force Officer. He retired after 23 years of service and was a proud veteran. His many accomplishments include being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal, and four Air Medals. After retirement he was the Plant Manager for Plycraft Garage Doors in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
His other goal in life was to marry the girl down the street, Dot Powers, and they had 71 years together and raised four children who gave him several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed camping adventures with his children and grandchildren and playing golf, poker and bridge with friends. He was greatly loved and respected by all for his wry sense of humor and wonderful storytelling.
He is survived by his wife Dot and their four children, son Robert Childre Jr. (Joyce) and daughters Donna Mills (Jim), Paula Hunter (Bill) and Andrea Childre; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family ceremony was held. The family wants to thank Bob and Dot’s friends for all their love, support and kindness during this difficult time. Elda May Grimes
Elda May Grimes, 75, of Decatur, Ark., died Jan. 21, 2021 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Ark.
She was born March 4, 1945 n Fayetteville, Ark., to John Henry and Ethel (Woods) Wallace. She married Samuel James Grimes on June 5, 1993. She loved to sing and help anyone that needed help. She was a member of New Wine Ministry.
Elda was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and her son Clifford.
Survivors include her husband, Sam of the home; children, John Rhine of Lincoln, Ark., Laticia James of Havana, Ark., Junior Rhine of Wadeland, Ark., and Charles David Rhine of Belton, Kan.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister Betty Holcomb of Bentonville, Ark.

Dorthy “Arvilla” Hill
Dorthy “Arvilla” Requa Hill, age 91, of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, peacefully, surrounded by her daughter and loving caregivers at the Gardens at Osage Terrace, her home for the past 7 years. She was born as the great depression was beginning, on October 29, 1929, near Cassville, Missouri to Fred and Pearl E. Requa.
She married Lonnie Wormington of Purdy, Missouri in 1943. They moved to Arvin, California where he died in an accident in October of 1945 at the age of 18. Two months later Arvilla gave birth to their daughter, Dorothy L. Wormington.
In 1947 she married Cleburn “Sammy” Hill, they made their home in California before moving to Siloam Springs, Arkansas in 1963 where Sammy opened Sam’s Radiator Shop. Their son Ronnie L. Hill was born in 1948. Arvilla worked for Franklin Electric until it closed. Once again, she became a widow when Sammy passed away suddenly in December 1975 at age 45. She worked many years for Siloam Springs Nursing Home before retiring. She decided to return to work at Southside Elementary near her home, where she enjoyed helping serve lunch to the children, until she was 81 years old and forced to retire for health reasons. She loved to travel, visited many state including Hawaii and was part of a group of square dancers for a time, loved Bar-B-Q and Mexican food. She enjoyed watching old westerns, Judge Judy and 5 o’clock news and did not mind telling you if you called during that time.
She moved to Bentonville in 2013, to live near her daughter, Dorothy Dye, who survives her. Also surviving her son Ron Hill and wife Laura of Oceanside, California; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, Ross, Charles and Gene Requa, sisters Doris, Retha, Barbara and Sharon.

Sharon “Suedi” Suedkamp
Sharon “Suedi” Suedkamp, 80, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Jan. 26, 2021 at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1940 in Los Angeles, Calif. She loved drawing, painting, reading and listening to music, mostly jazz music.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne McCool; and sister, Carolyn Moore.
Survivors include her children, Joy Longerbeam and husband Todd of Watuga, Texas, Randy Crockett and wife Sherry of Corona, Calif., and David Crockett and wife Jerita of Siloam Springs; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Earl McCool of Rogers, Ark.
