Allen Wayne Kimbrough, age 69, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died at his home on October 17, 2022. Allen was born March 2, 1953, in Childress, Texas. While a teenager, he began lifelong practices of cultivatin­g friends in many communitie­s and being involved in church life. He served as President of the Youth Council of the North Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church. He graduated from Siloam Springs High School, then enrolled at John Brown University. He transferre­d to Hendrix College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English with honors in 1975. While at Hendrix, Allen sang in the Hendrix College Choir and continued the training which made him an accomplish­ed pianist and organist. Following graduation from Hendrix, he received his J.D. degree with honors in 1978 from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he was a Hatton Sumners Scholar and a member of Order of the Coif.

Allen began the private practice of law in Dallas, Texas. He was an active member of the Texas Bar Associatio­n, the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Associatio­n, and the American Bar Associatio­n. He was active in Church of the Incarnatio­n in Dallas, where he served as Assistant Organist and sang in the choir. Allen was active in several arts organizati­ons in Dallas, helping the Dallas Symphony with the opening of its new concert hall in 1989.

Allen was a member of the American Bar Associatio­n Board of Governors from 1984–87. He later served as Executive Director of the Nevada Bar Associatio­n and then Executive Director of the Maricopa County Bar Associatio­n in Phoenix, Arizona. He retired in 2020 and moved from his home in Nevada to Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where he continued to be an ardent Razorback fan. He became active in the community, serving on the board of the Siloam Springs Museum and being a member of the vestry and choir of Grace Episcopal Church.

Allen was preceded in death by his mother Dr. Brownie Mitchell Kimbrough and his father Wade Elvin Kimbrough. He is survived by his former spouse Meredythe Kimbrough of Dallas, Texas, cousins, and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on November 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. CT at Grace Episcopal Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas with Reverend Stanley A. McKinnon officiatin­g with a reception following the service. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.
